COME EARLY THIS SUNDAY TO MEET SMALL GROUP LEADERS & MEMBERS

FELLOWSHIP & BREAKFAST TREATS!

September 10:  Today we grieve with a friend who is deeply connected to our CATB family.  Our long-time NSB school liaison, Kim Wall, lost her husband, Rob Wall, unexpectedly. His Celebration of Life will be held, tomorrow, Saturday, September 10th, at 11 am, where we meet for our service, in the NSB HS Auditorium

September 11:  Honduras Back Packs are due this Sunday.  If you have one out and spoken for…please return it this Sunday.  Small Group Mix & Mingle is at 10am.  Teen Devo is at 9:30 am.

September 15:  Come support the Community Hot Meals Ministry at the annual Spaghetti Charity Dinner Fundraiser.  Local restaurants (Stavros, Alberto’s, Touch of Italy, and That’s Amore) are providing the delicious meal.  Tickets are $10 A / $5 K and can be purchased from Kathy Schiefelbein this Sunday at church.  Finally, TEEN or ADULT servers are needed to wait tables for this dinner (4:30 – 7:00pm).  Students, earn your community service hours!  Contact KATHY to volunteer (386-689-9706 or 386-428-0093).

September 17:  Come visit us in our booth at the Edgewater Back Yard BBQ Event to honor the Girl Scouts!  We’ll be on hand to speak to families about JESUS and CATB and make children smile

Psalm 68:6, “He gives families to the lonely.”

In Volusia, Flagler and Putnam counties, within the last year, there has been 80% increase in the number of children in foster care without any additional care givers/homes.  There is currently provision to house 1,400 children in foster care.  However, right now our area has more than 1,800 children in its care.  There are 400-500 children who need more attention than merely being one of 12 children in a crowded home.  How much attention can a child receive when he is one of 12 children in a home?  It is a dire situation.

Simply put, we need more people in the body of Christ to provide loving homes for the children in our area.

FOSTER CARE ORIENTATION

We invite you to attend an information meeting called, Foster Care Orientation, where you will discover the following:

  • Introduction to all the different private foster care agencies in our area
  • Explanations of all the different types of foster care (special needs, medically needy, and traditional foster care)
  • Overview of what providing foster care entails
  • Insight of the licensing process
  • If you are ready to take the next step: you can choose your agency and begin the process right, then and there
  • Or, you can simply attend and take time to pray and think about it with no pressure
